1. Background:
As economies progress, rising living standard has called for higher water quality standard. The existing information system far lagged behind the increasing demand, updating the outdated information system has been more concerned than ever before.
Starting from early 2003, Water Bureau of Guangdong Province began to seek a substitute of the previous information system among many LIMS suppliers, after a whole year investigation, Inpro LIMS has eventually stood out and become a trusted partner.
2. Project overview:
At the outset of 2004, Inpro dispatched an implementation team for this project, the Inpro LIMS first launched in Water Bureau of Guangdong Province after a duration of half a year or so. It has then been adjusted and perfected many times by upgrading existing modules and appending new modules in order to best suit the specific needs of complex business it involved.
Inpro LIMS covers a wide range of functions from system management, water quality monitoring, data analysis and data query to personnel management and equipment management. The use of Inpro LIMS made automation and paperless work environment greatly achieved.
3. Benefits from using LIMS
Inpro LIMS has made Water Bureau of Guangdong Province significant changes in the following aspects:
Inpro LIMS provided a uniformed management platform across 11 water quality monitor stations in different geographical locations. It enables simultaneous data distribution to each station and feedback collection from individual stations back to central system.
Data sharing has been greatly achieved among individual laboratories. Task progress, sample information can be monitored; adjustment can be made accordingly.
Equipment, test method, material, test result and personnel resource are efficiently organized and managed, which contribute a great deal to acquiring and sustaining ISO/IEC17025 certification.
By applying Inpro LIMS, equipment status is under real time surveillance, manual labor has been much emancipated and productivity is greatly improved.
